This is an example of a typical photograph someone might use to sell their vehicle. A general photo, not bad but could be much better.
If you look closely at the paint on this 500SEL you'll notice the black paint does not shine and stand out as it should.
This car has been washed already, but you would not know it! The paint has so many contaminants and scratches it looks permanently dirty.
It is clear to see the haze on the paint in this picture, especially where it goes from hood to fender on that edge and next to the windshield.
We use a three step process to bring the life back to the paint. First, using a clay bar and detailing spray we remove contaminants and old wax from the surface.
In this photo I am placing some masking tape down to show the difference after the cut polish and wax. The car has already been clay bared at this point.
I am using a cutting compound with a professional random orbital and polishing pad to buff out the paint and make it shine again. After the cutting compound, I'll go over the car with a finishing wax to remove any swirl marks (absolutely VITAL with a black car).
Removing the final coat of wax, you can see the difference already.
